Hi there everyone!

Welcome to Rebeca's and Jacobo's site! 

We are your new Language Assistants for Spanish this year. We both study at Napier, too. Jacobo comes from Madrid and I come from Barcelona. Do not panic. We promised we won't argue! We are coming around to your classes on week 1 to give a brief presentation of ourselves so you can get to meet us before we start our sessions. We'll have more time to chat in person from week 2.

This site is your free space to practise Spanish! Jacobo and I will post information that we believe is relevant to your learning. But information such as reminders of your assignments, exam dates etc. will be likely posted on WebCT. 

So, we invite you to take a few minutes to check out all those fancy buttons on your left and make a journey to different Spanish related websites. We also invite you to leave comments. You can do this in English if you're a beginner or in Spanish if you are a bit more confident. We'll appreciate feedback from you, too!

We hope you'll enjoy this blog and that it will help you to improve your knowledge both of the Spanish language and the Spanish culture.

So, we encourage you to participate by leaving comments. We honestly believe that your participation is essential. In fact, we feel so strongly about this that we have come up with an idea : there will be a prize draw at the end of October amongst all the students who leave comments in this blog!. Again, comments can be either in Spanish or English but must be relevant to the Spanish culture eg. you can comment on anything that you are studying in class during this month or on a cultural/linguistic aspect of your summer holidays in Spain -I bet that at least one amongst you has been to Mallorca or Costa del Sol at some point! ;-) The winner will get 4 tickets to see a film of his/her choice at Cineworld Edinburgh anytime before the end of 2006. You'll be able to take along your boyfriend, parents, friends... Or us!
